Are you new to St. Paul?
If you are a new visitor to St. Paul, we would like to welcome you and thank you for choosing to join us for worship!
WHICH WORSHIP SERVICE SHOULD I ATTEND?
St. Paul offers three worship services, you are welcome to attend any of the services that you wish.
Wednesday evenings at 6:00 we have a Contemporary worship service with music heard on radio stations like 101.9 FM.
Sunday mornings at 8:30 we have a more Traditional worship service with hymns sung with an organ, and on some Sundays our choir will share special music with us.
Sunday mornings at 10:30 we have another Contemporary worship service where our music is led by our Praise Band. This is music you would find on most Christian radio stations. We also have "Children's Church" during this worship service. Children participate in worship with their families, then are called to the altar area for the Children's Sermon, and then leave worship with the Children's Church Leader for activities in the church basement. They return to worship to join in the closing of worship with their families.
All worship services last about one hour.
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
A paved parking lot is located on the West side of the church for those needing assistance (walkers, wheelchairs, etc.).
A gravel parking lot is located on the corner of East Cedar and Huber Streets.
WHAT ENTRANCE SHOULD I USE?
If you are in need of assistance/elevator (walkers, wheelchairs, etc.) we invite you to use our entrance off of the paved parking lot on the West side of the church. Continue through our fellowship hall to the elevator on the right (follow the signs) that will take you to the main level of the church. You will arrive in the back of church.
For those not needing special assistance, we would suggest that you enter the church through the main doors near the corner of North Ford and East Cedar Streets until you learn your way around.
OK, I'M INSIDE THE CHURCH, NOW WHAT?
Our greeters/ushers will welcome you and give you a bulletin that contains our scripture and Gospel readings that we will be using during worship, as well as announcements and events calendar. You are welcome to sit wherever you feel most comfortable.
WHERE ARE THE RESTROOMS LOCATED?
Men and Women's Restrooms are located downstairs in our church fellowship hall (follow the signs). The stairs to our lower level is located near the main church entrance, and the elevator is located in the back of church.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING SERVICES?
Our church currently uses the green hymnal Lutheran Book of Worship. You can find the hymnal in the rack attached to your pew along with a laminated outline of each service. The contemporary services are projected on a large screen above the altar. They hymns sung during the Traditional services are listed on the hymn boards in the front of the church on both the left and right sides.
Holy Communion is shared at each service. The greeters/ushers will dismiss by rows* to receive Communion. Communicants will walk up to the front of church through the center aisle, receive Communion bread** which will be placed in your cupped hand, and then eaten. You will then step to the next station to receive a small cup of wine*** which you will drink and then place the empty cups in a basket below the hymn boards as you return to your seat.
*If you are unable to walk to the front for Communion you may stay in your pew and the Pastor will come to you after serving the congregation. It is a good idea to let your greeter/usher know you would like the Pastor to serve you Communion in your seat.
**Gluten-free Communion bread is available upon request.
***Grape juice is served from the center rings of the Communion wine tray.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW THAT THE WORSHIP SERVICE IS OVER?
You may file out of your pew as you are comfortable. Pastor will greet you as you leave. Between services on Sunday morning we offer a Coffee Corner in the Fellowship Hall in the lower level. Come sit and enjoy great conversation with coffee and doughnuts.
